Preschool
At Quarton, children learn and explore in an age-appropriate and engaging environment. The curriculum covers many different areas of development: physical; cognitive; language, communication and literacy; interpersonal skills and relationships; creative arts; dramatic play; and construction.
The district's preschool program follows the HighScope curriculum. This curriculum aligns with the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for the State of Michigan. A strong foundation for school readiness, to enhance cognitive, physical and social-emotional learning, is the focus of our high-quality programs.
The preschool program located at Quarton is tuition-based and licensed by the State of Michigan. Our highly trained staff understand that all children go through the same stages of development, just at a different rate. In addition to planning classroom activities based on the comprehensive HighScope curriculum, teachers work to establish rapport with students and families and to create an age-appropriate physical environment. The maximum staff to child ratio is 1:8.
Preschool is a school year program, beginning in September and ending in June.
